This is a superb resource to the medical literature! I highly recommend it to researchers and clinicians alike! I am a clinical investigator in the field of evidence synthesis, and I use this book as my 1st go-to resource for any question or dilemma that I have. This book is excellent. With examples of studies and articles in the text, it makes understanding of the statistics and methods much easier to understand. I am excited to continue reading this book as I think it will further my education immensely.
I think the best way to use this book is to have a journal article you want to look at and then read the appropriate chapters for that article rather than reading it from start to finish. If the article is an RCT that describes NNT and RR, then read those chapters.
I would recommend this to any medical student or resident that feels frustrated or simply wants to improve their understanding of journal article findings.
